Joe Velázquez

CO Artist of the Year 2018

FASO velazquezfineart.com

Joe’s work focuses on the history of the North American Fur Trade during the early 1800’s. It was the trappers and traders of the era that showed the way west to those that would follow. And come they did: the settlers of the Oregon Trail, the miners, the cowboys and the railroads. They all followed in the footsteps of the mountain man. Joe captures this important era like no other artist. His passion is evident in his work.

For the past 10 years, he has been one of 15 contemporary artists invited to participate in the Coeur d’Alene Art Auction in Reno, NV, the largest western art auction in the US offering the work of current and past masters. Joe’s work is shown in West Lives on Galleries, Jackson, WY and Settler’s West Galleries, Tucson, AZ.
